  • Safest Car in America - 2006 Ford Five Hundred
    By -

Ive driven this car for 1 year and currently have no issues. This is one solidly built automobile. Ive studied the crash test data and I wasnt disappointed - 4 out of 5 tests it achieved the 5 star rating. (The 4 star rating was for rollover prevention - an issue that was corrected for 2008.) More than anything else - it is very comfortable to drive or ride in. Passengers in the back seat are surprised by the amount of leg room. When this lease is up Im buying a Taurus.

  • Well made American Sedan! - 2006 Ford Five Hundred

Worth the money. Its comparable to many of the more expensive euro sedans. Drives well and very comfortable. I like that it sits up high. When Im not driving, I spend most of my time thinking of places & reasons to drive. I wish Id got the Limited AWD now.

  • Love my 2006 SEL FWD - 2006 Ford Five Hundred

Bought my 2006 SEL FWD used, many miles on it, great condition. I cant believe what a great value it is. Leather, sunroof, CD, rides nice, handles very well. I must be getting old, Im excited by a 4-door. But its beautiful inside and out, black exterior with light tan leather, nicely done woodgrain trim. Im in sales and wanted to buy American, but most American cars dont appeal to me. This one does, looks almost German, the VW Passat was clearly their benchmark, but with much better interior room. Too bad they dropped the Five Hundred name and went back to the Taurus. I would have never bought it if it was named Taurus - geez, Im getting older, but Im not dead yet.

  • Not bad for an American Car - 2006 Ford Five Hundred

Great seating for visibility. Comfortable and handles well, with great fuel economy. Little noisy when engine is pressured. We love the car.

  • Ford 500 - 2006 Ford Five Hundred

Lots of room in front and back. Easy to get in and out. Handles well on snow and ice. Very satisfied with the vehicle. Average of 23 city driving (Denver,CO), I havent had the opportunity for a long trip yet to check highway MPG.

  • Love It - 2006 Ford Five Hundred

Lots of room and comfort, surprising how well it handles. Classy with a touch of sport.

  • New transmission - 2006 Ford Five Hundred
    By -

I like this car better all of the time. The main thing that is different is the transmission. The transmission doesnt shift but instead increased engine RPM is heard in the car. It is very good on the highway in performance and gas mileage on a recent trip was 30 mpg. I am very well satisfied with this car because it has a lot of room for passengers and a huge trunk.

  • Great car, but Ford could do better - 2006 Ford Five Hundred
    By -

This is a great car. It is put together well, rides and drives great, looks good, etc., EXCEPT it needs a little more horsepower. The 250 HP engine due in the 2007 model will solve that problem but why does Ford make us wait. Also, the interior doors, etc. are hard plastic. I wish Ford would spend a few dollars, and I will pay more, for a softer feeling interior. Design, etc. is great. Its just 95% of a perfect car.

  • Best car Ive ever had - 2006 Ford Five Hundred
    By -

We adore this car. Over the years we have had several models of Toyotas, Subarus, Nissans, VWs. Nothing has matched it. The Five Hundred is powerful, comfortable, reliable, gets excellent gas mileage, fun and easy to drive, has inexpensive upkeep and the lease payments are cheap. I was devastated to hear that Ford wants to nix it in favor of the Taurus, which seems like a "secretary car" to us.
